Tour # 1 Discover 'Jungle Falls' Kayak. Hike & Swim - 4 1/2 hoursThis exclusive one-way paddle brings you into the Hule'ia National Wildlife Refuge. home to some of Hawaii's native wetland birds and plants. The majestic Mount Ha'upu is your backdrop.
Witness famous movie locations ( Raiders of the Lost Ark & Jurassic Park ) and historic sites such as the Alekoko (Menehune) Fishpond. Enjoy a stop at our rope swing area in the shade of mango trees along the shore of the river.
Tour # 2 Wildlife Refuge Kayak & Hike - 2 3/4 hours For the soft adventurer. This tour is a shorter version of the Waterfall Tour. The 2 1/2 mile paddle along the river is done at a leisurely pace with stops at the Alekoko Fishpond. legendary caves and the Indiana Jones rope swing area.
Light snacks and juice are served and a dip in the water is offered. The hike through the lush forest trail of the Refuge is approximately 15-minutes to the vans. Along the way. different flowers. plants and vines are pointed out and talked about. Your guides will share their knowledge of local culture and the surrounding area.
On the van ride back. we will stop at the Alekoko (Menehune) Fishpond lookout and share information about the views not seen from the river. An easy one-way paddle. a beautiful hike and a comfortable drive back. This tour is suitable for all ages.
