You're in a Cessna 182 flying over a stretch of gorgeous coastline between Waimea and Po'ipu. You've had a glimpse of Waimea Canyon and now you're thinking about what comes next—you're actually going to jump out of this plane. Well. not all by yourself. From the minute you shoot out of the plane. you'll be attached to your new best friend. a Skydive Kauai instructor whose entire mission in life for the next 15 minutes is to see that you have the experience of a lifetime without getting hurt. When it's time to go. you and your instructor will step into mid-air and go into a 35-second freefall from 10.000 feet above sea level moving at about 120 mph. The next thing you know the parachute that you're both attached to will open and you'll find yourself floating over some of the most beautiful terrain in the world.
About 10 minutes later the instructor will have you safely on the ground. It's called tandem skydiving, and if you want an adrenalin rush that won't let you down-try it.
